"I born to fly not for crawling" - A. P. J. Abdul Kalam - Golden Words

    A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India, who was inspiration for so many youngsters and his full name was Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. Golden words from his mouth made us consonant shiver for some times. 

    "I will fly for a long time", "I born with lot of energy", I born with good characters", I born with dreams", I grown up with good thinking", I born to activate good thinking", I born with research mind", "I born to fly not for crawl", "I will fly definitely" 

this verse was told by A. P. J in one school function in Mudukulathur village and it was followed by all students while Abdul Kalam reading this verse.

    Like his wordings, he flies with his dreams till end. In 1931, October 15, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam born for one poor parents and later he was grown up with science in his mind and love in his heart. After 25 years of service as a scientist in Government, he started his own way to teach a lesson in Anna University, in 2001. In 2002, he had taken a class regarding 'Vision to Mission' topic, students had asked a lot of questions and he had delivered the answers patiently.

    After the end of session Kalam came out of the class, then he realised that he took 2hours for one hour class. Then he went for lunch after that he didn't go to his room, Kalam sat in one place and get ready to prepare for next session. After sometimes, Vice Chancellor at that time of Anna University ran fastly to Kalam, and told that so many telephone calls had arrived to Kalam's room telephone and also to his mobile. Kalam realised that he kept his mobile in room itself.

    Then he ran fastly to his room and one call had arrived while he entered the room. One voice told that, 'wait for some minutes, President of India will talk to you'. After some time one call received, Kalam picked up that, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in other end. He told to Kalam that, "Prime Minister will call you, don't hesitate please accept that", while Kalam speaking to him, one call arrived and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the other hand. Both were spoken about their health, after that Vajpayee asked Kalam to work as a President for India, all BJP political leaders wanted this, he added.

    Kalam had no words to tell and struggle to take the decision, he asked Vajpayee to give 2hours to take a decision. The most confusion part in his life. Within 2hours he called approx., 30 members to get a clear decision for President position. After 2hours, call received from Prime Minister office, Kalam told to Vajpayee that, "If opposition party also accepts me as the President of India then I will join in the election". After 5minutes, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam declared nominee for President elections.

    Vajpayee speak with opposition party Congress leader Soniya Gandhi to accepts Kalam's President work. She wanted to speak with her parties after that Congress party had also accepted this. Some parties like Marxist Communist Parry had came forward and reveal their opposition about Kalam standing in President election. There was no doubt that Kalam was great scientist but he was no experience in politics, then how he manage to develop a nation, this type of various questions were raised at that time.

    In 2002, sectarianism battle had arranged in Gujarat between Hindhus and Muslims, some speeched that, in order to solve this issue, BJP had chose A. P. J. Abdul Kalam for a leader, but partially it was true. Because several peoples include Hindhu and Muslims were killed, worst thing was new born children had also burnt alive in that battle, people dislikes BJP party due to this activity. At that time, in order to solve this issue, Vajpayee wants Narendra Modi (Chief Minister of Gujarat at that time) to resign his post. But this was refused by Union Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani and also some ministers had given their support to Modi.

    Due to this reason, Kalam is the only choice for Vajpayee to solve this issue to select one member who also non-Hindhu for President election. And also former Maharastra Governor and Traditional Christian P.C. Alexander name also came for this election but this decision had stopped by the statement of  Late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan. After that, Vice President at that time, Krishan Gandhi name was recommended and also he had experienced in politics but he was Hindhu, BJP party wants Muslim person for President election.

    After long confusion, Vajpayee chose Kalam as the nominee for election. All of them like that name to solve this issue, at the same time media didn't take serious about Kalam news, and also most of the people didn't expect that Kalam's acceptance. Kalam applied his name in election petition, media raised so many questions to Kalam, especially about Gujarat and Ayothi Ramar issue, with the smile he answered that good education results in good economy and good economy results in peace, he told.

    In 2002, July 15, President election was conducted, with the big support of BJP, Congress, ADMK etc., Kalam won the election with above 9 lakh votes and also with the lot of support A .P. J. Abdul Kalam elected as the 11th President of  India. In July 25, 2002, Inauguration Ceremony arranged for President, persons like Physics teacher of Kalam, persons who worked in top position of Rameshwarm temple, church and Mosque had came for this function.

    Kalam thought to see people in Gujarat who were affected by sectarianism and wanted to give his consolation, while this heard by Vajpayee, he requested Kalam not to go to Gujarat in this situation. After analysed the situation, Vajpayee told his decision to Kalam, and he also accepted Vajpayee's decision. Then Kalam went to schools and colleges and gave his speech and boosted them to dream about life. Abdul Kalam came in drawings and in verse from various hands and also fan club was started for one person who was not an actor, that much place occupied by Kalam in people's mind.

    In 1958, he failed to become a pilot, but at the age  of 74, after elected as the President he had driven SU 30 mki Flanker jet for 30 minutes. While in the period of President work, Kalam faced lot of difficulties, one of those was, in 2005, Congress party was very adamant to collapse Bihar party, but Kalam not agree with that, so he refused it and went to Russia, but Congress party never gave up they insisted Kalam to accept it, without a way Kalam signed the deal with uncomfortable. After few days this deal was rejected by Supreme court, Delhi.

    Due to his wrong decision, Kalam decided to resign his President Post, but his brother consoled him to retain his position, this was told by Kalam's Press Secretary S. M. Khan. Kalam signed so many bills in his period but this bill depressed Kalam so much. Lot of accusations had raised against Kalam. One of them was clemency petition. Kalam failed to accept 26 out of 28 clemency petitions. Kalam had faced lot of issues of difficulties in his period, at that same time he was failed to help fisherman issue in his native place Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu and also he boosted children but not in the continuous manner this type of accusations have also raised against Kalam. Some fans of Kalam told that he was failed to use the power of Government because of his peaceful mind, if he used that, India will reach better position. 

    However these accusations had stand against Kalam, still his smiling face and heart with full of love didn't vanish from all hearts of people. Though he had passed way, he still lived in all hearts of people.
