Why the Award named as Dadasaheb Phalke Award




    We heard about National Film Awards, which is the award giving ceremony which have been arranged for the persons who give their extraordinary contribution in Indian Cinema and they are recognized by this ceremony by getting the awards. Recently, in past Monday (25.10.2021), 67th National Film Awards was held in Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan and the awards were presented by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu

    This ceremony have been conducted for every year and the awards are presented by President of India and it is conducted by Indian Government's Directorate of Film Festivals. Tamil actors like "Makkal selvan" Vijay Sethupathi who got National Award for best supporting actor in Super Deluxe film, which was released in 2019. He was acted as transgender.

    Actor Dhanush, who got National Award for best actor in Asuran film, and actor Parthipan, music director D. Imman were also got this award for their extraordinary talent.

    The most successful actor in Tamil Cinemas and till he maintained his youth and managed to do films as hero in his age of 70. The man was Super Star RajiniKanth, who received Dadasaheb Phalke Award and he was the 51st awardee to get this. This award is the highest award in the Indian Cinemas. The person who received this award was honoured for their extraordinary contribution in Indian Cinema.

    There are 51 awardees who got this award including Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan. This award includes Swarna Kamal, which means Golden Lotus, one shawl and Rs. 10 lakh cash price. The reason for the name of this award was Dadasaheb Phalke, who was the Indian Film Maker, he was born in 1870 and died in 1944 and he was also known as Father of Indian Cinema, he made his first feature film known as Raja Harishchandra

    Due to his dedication, the award named as his name and then the award reached the hands of persons who reached zenith by their hard work and contribution.
